What is your favorite project you have worked on at JCM?
There are several projects that I have enjoyed, but my favorite would have to be the Tides at Silver Run.
Why?
The success of this project required close coordination with both USFWS and DNHP regarding a bald eagle nest and potential bog turtle habitat. In a time prior to the de-listing of the bald eagle, the developer and I were able to modify the layout of the development and propose the planting of a riparian buffer to expedite the review process and construct within a portion of the bald eagle buffer. After conducting a Phase II Bog Turtle survey on the property and coordinating with State and Federal agencies, we were able to obtain clearance letters in a timely manner.

Experience:
Assisted with numerous Phase I and Phase II Bog Turtle surveys in Delaware , Maryland and Pennsylvania under the direction of Mick McLaughlin since 2004.
Assisted with Bog Turtle Research for Maryland Department of Natural Resources and Pennsylvania Nature Conservancy.
Presented “Wetland Mitigation Monitoring at DE SR1: Hydrology Monitoring Techniques and Results” for the Pinelands Nursery & Supply , Native Plants and Ecological Restoration Symposium.
Coordinated with State and Federal agencies to obtain wetland permits.
Assisted with Delmarva Fox Squirrel habitat assessments and live trapping surveys.
