Elkins Van Alen Phase II Bog Turtle Survey
Why?
It was a really interesting site with a diversity of flora and fauna. The field work was a lot of fun.

Environmental Scientist, James C. McCulley IV, Environmental Consultants, Inc. , 4/05 - present. Performed all types of environmental investigations, including: Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), soil and ground water sampling, underground storage tank (UST) removals, wetland delineations, forest stand delineations, forest mitigation reports, bog turtle surveys, and rare species surveys. Wrote proposals and invoices. Created report templates, process manuals, marketing materials.
Environmental Scientist, Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. 1/05-4/05. Performed Phase I ESAs on agricultural, commercial, and residential properties throughout Maryland and Pennsylvania .
Assistant Staff Scientist, ENTRIX, Inc., 7/03- 1/05. Performed over 100 Phase I and Phase II ESAs including process wastewater inspections throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico . Performed several inground automotive hoist removals. Created a company handbook on performing Phase I ESAs. Performed numerous Property Condition Assessments (PCAs) and created a PCA template. Assisted in the management of a 160 property portfolio. Wrote several proposals. Coordinated with contractors for Phase II ESA work. Performed stream flow analysis and fish habitat assessments for hydroelectric licensing projects in California . Monitored water conditions at a dredge spoils area at a large oil refinery in Delaware . Gathered data for a recreation study following an oil spill in Massachusetts .
